Dr. Kazi, Dhruv

Cardiologist and health economist who serves as the Associate Director and Section Head of Health Economics at the Richard A. and Susan F. Smith Center for Outcomes Research in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Kazi’s research examines the real-world effectiveness and cost effectiveness of clinical and policy interventions for cardiovascular prevention and treatment, improving access to cardiovascular therapies. Through his scientific leadership role in the American Heart Association, Dr. Kazi advocates for universal access to affordable cardiovascular prevention and care.

Dr. Rojas Hernandez, Sebastián

In 2019, he expanded his experiences by joining the Heart and Diabetes Centre NRW in Bad Oeynhausen as staff cardiovascular surgeon under the direction of Prof. J. Gummert with a focus on adult cardiovascular surgery, mechanical circulatory support (MCS) and heart transplantation. In 2021, Sebastian Rojas became faculty member at Hannover Medical School (MHH). His sphere of influence expanded in 2022 when he became a visiting professor at the Universidad de Valparaiso in Chile. Sebastian Rojas' clinical and research interests involve cardiac stem cell therapy, ex vivo organ perfusion, thoracic organ transplantation and MCS. He is currently science attaché for the Spanish-speaking group of the ISHLT.
